Unnecessary Information​

When applying for State jobs, only send the documents requested in the job application. Too much material can make it harder for reviewers to find your best qualifications.​

The Division of Personnel does not review the following documents:​

  • High School Transcripts/Diplomas or GED​
  • Elementary or Middle School records
  • Certificates for short courses or Workshops (Just list these skills in your application or on your resume.)​
  • Copies of Awards or Certificates of Achievement (List these in your application or on your resume.)
  • Cover Letters
  • Driver’s License
  • Letters of Recommendation
  • Photographs
  • Personal Information (ex: marital status, medical information, Social Security Number)
  • Unofficial college transcripts
