1. Who conducts trainings?
Trainings are primarily conducted by the Division of Personnel's Organization and Human Resource Development (OHRD) section. OHRD's purpose is to develop leaders at all levels by facilitating learning, guiding change efforts, and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.

2. How do I register for a class?

Enrollments for all DOP-OHRD training programs, both classroom and online, are now completed via the State of WV Learning Center (www.onlinelearning.wv.gov), also known as CourseMill. Note: Be sure to request and secure your supervisor’s approval prior to enrollment.

To register for classes:

  • Go to onlinelearning.wv.gov and log in to your account with your assigned network ID (A# or E#).
  • Click the "Forgot your Password?" link if needed.
  • After logging in, make sure the "Course Catalog" tab is selected.
  • Type the class code in the "Catalog ID" field.
    • If you are unsure what the course code is, you can search using "OHRD" or "DOP" to find classes taught by the different sections of DOP.
  • Click "Search" or hit enter.
  • Scroll to find the classroom session or online course you are looking for and click the "Enroll" button.

3. How do I cancel my class registration?

If you are unable to attend a scheduled training course, we strongly encourage you to cancel your enrollment so others can attend.

To unenroll, please visit onlinelearning.wv.gov and log in to your account. Once logged in, go to the "My Courses" tab. You will see on the right-hand side of the list there are small grey boxes labeled "i" under "Info" for each session. Click that box for the course you wish to cancel and then click "Unenroll".

4. How can I request enrollment in an OHRD class if I work for a non-DOP covered agency?

If you are part of a non-DOP covered government agency or constitutional office, you may be able to pay a fee to attend DOP trainings.

Fee Schedule:

  • 3 hour (1/2 day) class = $60/per enrolled employee
  • 6 hour (full day) class = $120/per enrolled employee
  • 12 hour (2 day) class = $240/per enrolled employee
  • 18 hour (3 day) class = $360/per enrolled employee

Employees interested in attending one of our classes may fill out the Non-DOP Covered Agency Training Request Application.
Note: Application requires signature of an individual with financial authority to enter into contract agreements and reimburse services to other agencies.

Agency Requests
If you represent an agency that would want to contract for training of a large number of people, please complete a Request Special OHRD Services form.

5. How can my agency or I request special training services?

Agencies interested in group classes, leadership coaching, strategic planning services, or custom solutions may do so through OHRD's Special Requests Services page. For more examples of special services, view our Coaching, Group Classes, and Custom Services page.

6. Where do I park for training?
We recommend that you park in the metered spaces. Most meters accept quarters and are $.25 for each half hour. Also, visitors at the State Capitol Complex in Charleston now have the option to pay through the free PayByPhone parking app or website. For questions and/or concerns about participant parking, contact the Department of Administration Parking Section at 304-558-3062.
