Course Description:

Today’s learners want sound, relevant content and an engaging and interactive training environment. This program provides an introduction to principles of adult learning, setting the stage for the development of knowledge and skill in the art of training design, development, and delivery.

A recommended prerequisite to OHRD’s four-day Train-the-Trainer program, Introduction to Adult Learning will examine:

  • How the brain processes information;
  • The learning environment expected by today’s audiences;
  • The goals, wants, and needs that adult learners bring to training sessions; and
  • Guidelines and principles for designing, developing, and delivering training programs.

If you are a fulltime trainer or a subject matter expert who is expected to contribute to your agency’s training efforts, attend Introduction to Adult Learning and improve your ability to provide interactive and engaging training!

This course is included in our Trainer Certification Program.


 

Audience & Applicability:​

This class is designed for and fully applicable to both classified and classified-exempt state agency trainers, facilitators, and subject-matter experts. All content, examples, and guidance are relevant regardless of employment status.
