Unnecessary Information
When applying for State jobs, only send the documents requested in the job application. Too much material can make it harder for reviewers to find your best qualifications.
The Division of Personnel does not review the following documents:
- High School Transcripts/Diplomas or GED
- Elementary or Middle School records
- Certificates for short courses or Workshops (Just list these skills in your application or on your resume.)
- Copies of Awards or Certificates of Achievement (List these in your application or on your resume.)
- Cover Letters
- Driver’s License
- Letters of Recommendation
- Photographs
- Personal Information (ex: marital status, medical information, Social Security Number)
- Unofficial college transcripts
