Course Description:
If you work in an office, much of your communication is conducted online. Unfortunately, such communication can often be difficult to interpret, have too much superfluous information, and have a distracting amount of grammatical errors. That is because while online communication via emails, tests, and IMs can speed up information sharing, it can also lend itself toward sloppy writing because we feel the need to get the communication out fast. It is important in this digital era to ensure we focus on the quality of our writing even in platforms that tend to make us focus on speed rather than quality of communication.
To that end, during this virtual course you will learn some basic guidelines to improve your writing skills when using emails and instant messaging. Join Nicole Michaelis from OHRD for an interactive, virtual training experience focusing on clear, concise, and consistent writing skills to increase effective written communication.
